Quailwood Designs is the creation of woodworker Clancy Moore, the craftsman behind Quailwood Designs’ original wooden homewares, furniture, and artworks. Clancy works with a tireless passion and an eye for detail, and believes that furniture is a window into the lives of us all. Quailwood Designs’ furniture is accordingly lasting, personal, alluring, and honest. An appreciation for traditional joinery techniques sets Clancy’s work out among modern, mass-produced furniture, and ensures that his pieces will last for years and years.

Clancy has previously studied history and creative writing, and still maintains his love of both. He has a passion for theatre, and Latin American culture, as well as for furniture from across the world.

Clancy started teaching himself the art of woodwork in late 2016, and by mid 2018 had decided to pursue it full-time. His designs draw from traditional Japanese carpentry, as well as that of mid-century Europe, and others. He utilises fine Australian, recycled, and imported hardwoods, as well as producing premium plywood products. He works with inlay, resin casting, and fine finishing techniques to create pieces with a certain timeless and understated beauty.
